Match Report :
Right-back turned centre forward for the night Mark Evans's hatrick dumped City out of the Loosmore Challenge Cup at the first hurdle, with Caernarfon winning 7-5 on aggregate.
Tim Brandreth opened the scoring after 10 minutes, before Mark Evans blitzed the City defence with a 16 mintue hatrick giving the home side a 4-0 advantage on the night at half time and a 7-2 margin overall.
City boss Peter Davenport changed thing at hlaf time, reverting back to 4-4-2 from the 3-5-2 City used in the first half, with wingers Garry Parr and Morgan Jones coming on to provide width for the second half.
Les Davies' 56 minute goal started a mini-revival. before Frank Mottram netted on 67 and 74 minutes. Caernarfon's left back Caerwyn Roberts hit the woodwork twice, one with a 40 yard special and former City trialist Luke Campbell also went close.
