There has been a settlement at Barrasford since the early part of the 14th century, which is still thriving today. The village is in close proximity to Hadrians Wall and Chesters Fort with its Roman bath house. A fine museum at Chesters contains a remarkable collection of Roman antiques. The village offers many things of interest from the Methodist church built in 1877 by local craftsmen to some wonderful trails offering the chance to see the local wildlife and countryside.
