Computer Science
Department
Computer science studies started at Basrah University in
1977 as a branch under Mathematics department. In 1982, the decision was made to
make computer science studies an independent department under college of
science.
The first academic year 1983-1984, the department accepted 60 students. Since
then, the department has evolved as one of the
advanced centers in Iraq for computer science studies and researches.
The department awards B. Sc., M. Sc., and Ph. D. degrees in computer science.
In November 2007, I received these photos from the
head of the department to be published on this website.
