Here's some artwork (601KB) for your completed album
Fractured
beats, rigid hard ass rhythms and a surreal futuristic exploration of sound,
35 Seconds are the most innovative tour de force this country, let alone this
city, has spawned for light years. If Radiohead's Kid A had had its teeth
sledge hammered in by Nine Inch Nails while Aphex Twin detonated a nail bomb
in Nathan Barley's flat then it would sound like a less intense 35 Seconds moment.
Chemically imbalanced and psychologically deranged, they are One Flew Over
The Cuckoo's Nest in a five piece.
Diligent
tunesmiths from Birmingham, UK, reviving classical pop in a post-punk form.
They create lawless playground fighting music designed to reflect the fleeting
moods of life; one minute it's as jolly as Sid James after a barrel of Scotch,
the next it's as bleak as a Ken Loach film on a black and white TV. They write
about the things that rule our lives but constantly disappoint us, such as work,
love, death, sex and home.
Glider
is the project of Gavin Baker from British bands Billy Mahonie/Jet Johnson and
Pascal Asselin from Canadian band Below the Sea. This is a truly inter-continental
project! Gavin and Pascal had become aware of each other's work and decided
to work together even though they were stuck on opposite sides of the Atlantic.
The pair eventually met in July 2000 when Pascal visited England during a Billy
Mahonie tour. They have since recorded 3 singles and 4 albums including a remix
album with contributions from Tarentel, Rothko and Yellow6.
Le Mal Ne Meurt Jamais (4.1MB)
Power,
beauty, noise, melody, hypnosis, simplicity.
Ex members of Sally, Godflesh, Grover, Katastrophy Wife and Cable Regime have
fused krautrock, shoegaze and hard rock into a beautiful, hypnotic noise since
late 2003.
Their first release, a 28-minute piece entitled Sleep Easy Mr Parker
(Bearos063) is soon to be released on Bearos Records.

Clair
has been an active performer for more than a decade. Initially in pre-Grover
bands such as The Money Gods she has spent much time as a much in demand session
musician with connections with bands like The Beautiful South. However, there
are only so many backing vocals a girl can do before needing to spread her wings
and in the spring of 2004 Clair began working again with Simon Fox of Grover.
Her sultry tones are a wonderful match to the mixture of pop, folk and country.
His
fingerpicking guitar has the lazy fluidity of a far older soul who has spent
more nights than he can remember sleeping under the stars on the backseats of
Greyhound buses and fleapit hotels the authorities never got around to condemming.
His most notable track is the unyielding, anguished and unkind Fuckers.

Shocked
Elevator Family are the sound of trying to explain to your dear Nan that it's
Tuesday and that Mavis died in 1991. Deranged and faintly depressing, there
is no denying your unconditional love. They take all the wacky musings of Pavement,
early Modest Mouse and the full on stomp of Superchunk giving the songs an instant
lo-fi charm and credibility.

Creepy
acoustic folk music. There is something about the curious melodies, the simple
but excellent guitar picking and his soft but wrong vocals that entrance. His
songs are miniature scenes that feel like Edgar Allen Poe descendent. I don't
know what they are putting in the water in the East Midlands as they seem to
be producing a number of curious artists. Gav carries on the tradition of early
Tyrannosaurus Rex and the folk magic of These Trails to make a seductive but
disturbing songs.

Katy Acquaye and Stuart Tonge began creating electronic music in 1997. They
have released singles on the Static Caravan and Bearos Records who also released
their debut album, From The Startline (Bearos031) in 2003. Their work
is divided between the CD friendly vocal and rhythm tracks and more abstract
fractured pieces for art installations and events. They weave a wonderfully
atmospheric feast of hip-hop beats and electronic soundscapes.

Richard
Burke's solo material was a real surprise to those who only knew him through
his work with top emo band, The Starries.
His solo style retains the complex song structures and Irish brogue of earlier
work, softening them with folk and the pop influences of Morrissey & Marr
and Belle & Sebastian. His songs conjour up nights of unrequited love and
stoical introspection mixed with the fleeting joy of all too temporary love.
I'll admit it's not cheery stuff but you'll have to go a long way to find a
voice and a talent as authentic as this.

Krafla
is a project of Simon Fox and Steve Hough of Grover. Mixing live instruments
and electronica is a difficult balancing act, but Krafla manage superbly, adding
layers of depth and instrumentation to fragile song structures and delicate
melodies. This track is a delicate balance of light and shade as mandolin and
guitar folkiness sweeten the rasping backdrop of digital textures.

Ben
writes and plays charming vignettes of modern lifes trials and tribulations.
Pessimism and tragedy are belied by optimistic, bright-sound instrumentation.
His soft breathy voice and poetic lyrics have had reviewers compare his modern
urban ballads to a cross between Belle & Sebastian and Nick Drake.
