On the 11th May, 1963 "please please me" stormed to number one in the U.K album charts and remained there for an astonishing 30 weeks, only being knocked off the top slot by the Beatles follow up album "With the Beatles" which went on to stay there for 21 weeks giving the lads a total of 51 weeks (just one weeks short of a year) consecutively at the toppermost of the poppermost!!
