Liverpools Mathew street festival is Britains biggest annual city centre music event, and is now in its 11th year! Last year it was attended by more than 300,000 people underlining the lasting and enduring appeal of the fab 4. Over 200 bands played live on six outdoor stages and at over 40 indoor venues. The world famous Cavern club featured more than 70 bands during the three day festival.
The festival is the culmination of Liverpools International Beatles week celebrations during which the city is host to thousands of international visitors, Beatles devotees travel to Liverpool from the USA, south America, Europe, Australia, Japan and many other countries to celebrate and pay homage to the four lads from Liverpool that shook the world!

The next Mathew st festival will be held on the 28th, 29th and 30th of August 2004, well worth a visit..after all what better place for a Beatlesfest than their home town of Liddypool!
