The 4th Annual Fan Meeting in Boppard, Germany took place on Saturday 7th September 2002. It was the usual festival of beer and merriment that we've come to expect!!

The weekend kicked off on Friday night in the Knoten.

Ian was obviously looking at something in the Knoten on Friday night...

Maybe it was Monarchs shirt mounted on the wall...

Nah...Das Alt!!

It'd been over 2 months since we had any (not counting the 2 crates that Ian bought in June).

On Saturday, we gathered (or should that be staggered??) to the meeting point to pick up the bus. The atmosphere on the bus was a little quiet, the silence only broken by the new Fire Pl@net CD and Niki's fingers tapping on his phone's keypad. More on that later...

There was much fun and photo taking outside the bar in Boppard. The token Scot Ian had to apper in every group photo, poor lad. The rest of the Usual Scottish Suspects were in the States.

Then it was on to the boat. It was a nicer day weatherwise than last year and eveyone was on the upper deck, learning the Ketchup Song dance from John and Montse.

After all the fun on the boat, it was time for a quiet Schlösser by the river...

Sober? Moi??

It was at this point that Niki and Montse decided to call everyone in Niki's phone book. Keep in mind that Niki's phone is from Holland, we were in Germany and they were calling people from all over Europe on their mobiles. Maybe it's a good thing we're both on Pay-As-You-Go!!

Ian's Triple 'F' Header motto was "Sleep is not an option". Obviously this was not the case in Boppard!

As you can see, it was getting very dark and after some lovely fireworks and a few more Schlössers it was time to head for the bus for the journey back to Düsseldorf and the luxury of the Ibis.

Let's hope there is still a party next year, no matter where the Fire play.

The Beerleaders would to thank Hell Of Shame Niki for the photos. There are more Boppard pics on the Hell of Shame's website.
