Both bands played again at halftime. This is Wisconsin’s. |

The second half started better for Auburn when Wisconsin QB John Stocco was sacked deep in his half by Auburn’s big DE Stanley McClover. He also fumbled the ball which was recovered by McClover’s fellow lineman DT T.J. Jackson. With the short field Auburn were able to drive to the 2yd line but still couldn’t cross the stripe. They settled for a chip shot from K John Vaughn to add their first 3 points of the game. |

Wisconsin’s next drive marched them down the field with long completions to WRs Brandon Williams and Jonathan Orr, complemented by strong running from RB Brian Calhoun. However Taylor Mehlhaff missed from 41 yds as LB Karibi Dede just got his hand to it to send it wide right. |

The teams then traded punts. Auburn started to drive from just inside their half. Through the rushing of RB Kenny Irons, who was finally finding some holes, and crucial pass receptions from WRs Ben Obomanu and Devin Aromashodu, Auburn were able to drive downfield. |

Wisconsin 17 Auburn 10. This brought the Auburn fans right back into the game and finally gave the cheerleaders something to celebrate as they now only trailed by seven. |

The celebration didn’t last long as 5 plays later RB Brian Calhoun broke it out on a 33 scamper for the score. |

Auburn’s last glimmer of hope came when Auburn punter Kody Bliss launched one 51 yds and it was downed on Wisconsin’s 1 yd line. |

However Wisconsin snuffed that hope and showed their dominance with a 98 yd drive behind Wisconsin’s own version of the one-two punch, WR #1 Brandon Williams and RB #2 Brian Calhoun. |

The drive only stopped when after 9 minutes when John Stocco took a knee on the Auburn 1 yd line to end the game. Calhoun finished the game with a Bowl-record 216 yards. Williams had 173 yards receiving and Stocco had 301 yards passing. Wisconsin's head coach Barry Alvarez was delighted as he coached his underdog team for the last time before heading upstairs to become the university's Athletic Director. The team also wanted to let him know how happy they were, so naturally a Gatorade bath was his reward for the win. |
