 Enlightened Equitation: Riding in True...

This guide offers advice on achieving total synchronization with your horse, using non-confrontational training methods. The author argues that good horsemanship is about partnership not domination and aims to demystify the techniques of riding through simple, logical explanation and clear illustrations. The author shows readers how to mirror the movements of the horse's back, absorbing his energy in trot and canter, and rising to the trot in perfect balance, without causing the horse any pain or discomfort.

 Improving the Rider's Position...

This illustrated guide explains how to achieve a poised and effective riding position which will enhance performance and enable the rider to remain constantly in balance whether walking, trotting or cantering. It describes how to correct upper body alignment and improve leg positions, how to sit centrally on the seat bones and eliminate crooked posture, how to distribute your weight evenly, how to develop a sensitive rein contact, and how to avoid tension and fear while in the saddle

Everything you need to know about the ancient craft of dry stone walling. It's written by our very own webmaster so it's got to be worth a look!

Down to Earth Dressage: How to Train...

For riders at all levels, Carl Hester and Bernadette Faurie aim to make dressage training accessible with step-by-step guides for improving the horse's paces, riding dressage movements, and competing. Essentially this book is about every rider making the most of his or her potential and, in the process, producing a horse that is more pleasing to ride and more athletic in its body. The book offers advice on training all types of horse and in everyday language, explains how to set about improving the horse's paces and suppleness, whilst keeping him happy and enthusiastic in his work. It describes how to ride dressage movements, from simple circles to flying changes, and pointing out common mistakes and how to correct them.
