Thank you, Pete Smith. We're got a great programme for you tonight.

XXHTML is based on XHTML, the W3C's standard for increasing traffic on the internet, a few bytes at a time. XXHTML was originally going to be called "XXLHTML", to stand for "Extra Extra Large HTML". However, we decided against it. This would give people the (correct) impression that this whole "standard" was just to increase the size of the average hypertext document.

Anyway, on with the show. XXHTML uses such advanced syntax that the web browser developers are scratching their heads trying to work out how to parse it! That's excellent, isn't it? (*audience agrees*) Some of XXHTML's accomplishments include:

Allowing all user agents to render the page in exactly the same way (*audience laughs*). Thank you very much. I worked all night on that joke, I'm glad it got such a good reception.
Doing away with those silly "multimedia" courses at universities... now you need to be a Computer Engineering major in order to make a simple web page! That reminds me of a joke about two men sitting on a park bench, reading books. The first one is reading "XXHTML for Beginners". The other is reading "Advanced Programming in C++". The first one says to the second one, "Wow! You must be pretty brainy, to be learning C++!" and the second one replies "I dunno about that, I just thought I'd start with something easy". (*audience groans*)
The latest XXHTML-capable web authoring applications require a gigabyte of hard disk space - Quantum's sales have jumped by 50% in the past week! That means big boners for us (*audience gasps*) I mean, big BONUSES. (*audience goes "oh" and some laugh*)
