I have put together this site in order give myself practice at using server side scripting (PHP) to provide dynamic content on web pages.

The News page will just be a record of happenings in my life (but not a full online diary) and is pure self indulgence. The page should be avoided by those who do not have masochistic tendencies.

About Bill is self explanatory and is provided on the off chance that visitors might be interested (or nosey).

Tips/Moans contains my, perhaps, idiosyncratic views on web page design. I thought about having separate pages but decided that a page containing just moans would be a bit too much for anyone who happens across this site. So I hope that the tips will break up the page slightly. The tips will include any programming techniques I come across that work for me.

The Scripts page will just be a repository for scripts I have written myself which I think might be of use to other newcomers to PHP programming.

The Links page is just a collection of sites that I use or find interesting and initially will be rather short but will be added to later

The Contact Bill page is a form to let anyone, who has a burning desire to do so, get in touch

Help With Tripod is essentially a separate site but to avoid breaking the site terms and conditions I have included it as a sub site here. Help With Tripod includes guides to PHP4U, WebFTP, installing PHP Nuke, some PHP functions, database management using PHP, building a guestbook using PHP/MySQL etc.

This page is a static HTML page because of the requirements of Tripod that a sites homepage should be index.html. I had considered using HTML redirect but decided that I would prefer to have the opening page appear rather than having a cryptic “You are being redirected” message flash onto the screen.
