Ian Richardson Eagles defence man said after the game;

Billingham returned to the Billingham rink for our first home game of the season. The plant has improved the surface dramatically. Although the ridge still runs down the middle!! Sheffield travelled to Billingham minus ex GB skipper Chris Kelland, the missing stalwart's experience showed early on as Tom Brown notced 3 within the first 8 minutes.

In the first game to see Billingham play three line hockey throughout, the depth of the squad showed. Without Payne,Lewis and Aisbitt, the youngsters who proved their worth against Kingston, once again came up trumps. The skills of Wallace earning him a brace, the second of which will no doubt live with him for some time. The game was a truly one sided affair, the 13-1 end scoreline inidcated that Billingham have their sights firmly set on retaining the title.
