Sunday 10th October saw a league leading Billingham Eagles take to the road to play Nottingham Tigers , the Eagles were without suspended Gary Dowd and Andy Fletcher. Making a welcome return for the Eagles were Simon Burns and Simon Hehir.

1st Period

Eagles opened the scoring at 11:22 with a goal from Brian Perry assisted by Simon Burns and Shaun Black . At 12:44 Martin Lewis hit home to give the Eagles their second goal assisted by Simon Hehir and Tom Brown.Nottingham kept the pressure on and converted a power play goal at 18 :11. The first closed Nottingham 1 : Eagles 2 .

2nd Period

Brian Perry collected a 2 + 10 cross check penalty at 18:51 , although Nottingham applied plenty of pressure they were unable to convert the resulting power play . At 36:47 Shaun Black scored un-assisted to close the third Nottingham 1 :Eagles 3.

3rd Period

Into the third period at 52:35 Simon Hehir in his first outing for the Eagles this season scored his second for the night assisted by Shaun Black and Paul Windridge. A 2 minute hooking penalty to Billinghams Martin Lewis at 53:10 left Eagles short handed , at 54:32 Nottingham capitilised on the power play with their second power play goal of the night scored by Mark Levers . Eagles in turn were handed the power play advantage at 55:37 when Nottingham picked up a 2 minute interference penalty , Tom Brown hit the mark assisted by Brian Perry and Simon Burns to close the game Nottingham 2 : Eagles 5.
