POSITION : Regional Director LOCATION : Flexible within territory REPORTING TO : President, Retail Maximize sales and profits by developing a top performing team, dedicated to the achievement of all company goals through communication and direction consistent with company philosophies. IF YOU WOULD LIKE TO BE RESPONSIBLE FOR: Ensure that all aspects of store operations consistently meet Indigo standards. To develop the people necessary to achieve appropriate store productivity and successfully execute all objectives. Provide guidance to General Managers, the Regional Manager and Store Managers through the use of inventory management tools to meet budgeted targets and analyze trends. Achieve operational and financial excellence for all products, promotions and merchandising, and evaluate performance to repeat or improve future offerings. Control region's labour within budgeted guidelines and meet the region's controllable cost targets by effectively controlling expenses. Analyze P&L statements and develop proactive plans to grow each location within the region as best possible. Set priorities and foster teamwork within the region demonstrating leadership by providing training, motivation and coaching for your direct reports. Recruit and hire top performers. To interview and recommend candidates for Regional and General Manager positions. Identifying and developing a base of promotable employees. Train and develop employees to consistently deliver Indigo customer satisfaction and exceed performance expectations. Ensure established merchandising guidelines are executed to maximize sales and profits. Conduct analysis and provide input for improving stock mix and inventory productivity. Resolve customer complaints directed to home office. To participate as a member of the Retail Operations team in the overall development of Retail Store Strategy and budget. AND YOU HAVE THE FOLLOWING QUALIFICATIONS : Several years experience in retail, including direct experience managing operations in a superstore environment or previous multi-unit management experience. Post-secondary education is a definite asset. Excellent information systems understanding and human resource management. Proven record of profitability and budget management. Belief in accountability and ownership; understands that one's action is a role model for all others in the organization. Desire to continuously learn and improve what and how we operate. Exceptional analytical, interpersonal, decision making and organizational skills. "Hands-on" approach; creative and innovative approach to problem solving. A passion for books, for retail (customer satisfaction), for a service driven environment and customer focussed.
