Sexton Blake Radio Shows
Sexton Blake wasn't merely a publishing phenomenon — he was also a big hit on stage, screen (big and small) and radio. Very occasionally, a reel of an old Blake movie appears on Ebay or elsewhere. I haven't managed to secure one for the collection yet, but when I do, it will be transferred to digital media and will appear on this page. Fortunately, his radio shows have been better preserved and propagated. You will find here SEXTON BLAKE AND THE TIME KILLER, a 13-part serial set during the detective's Golden Age, and a number of adventures starring William Franklyn as the New Order Blake of the 1960s (all in MP3 format). Enjoy! Sexton
Blake and the Time KillerAn old time radio serial in which Sexton Blake encounters a ghostly hound on London's underground, is commissioned to find stolen microbes, searches for a lost Lord and a Trade Union Leader, and ends up on a very mysterious island. The story is a narration rather than a dramatisation — I've no idea who the narrator is. Note: a couple of episodes cut off abruptly but only half a word or so is lost. · Sexton Blake and the Time Killer - Episode One · Sexton Blake and the Time Killer - Episode Two · Sexton Blake and the Time Killer - Episode Three · Sexton Blake and the Time Killer - Episode Four · Sexton Blake and the Time Killer - Episode Five · Sexton Blake and the Time Killer - Episode Six · Sexton Blake and the Time Killer - Episode Seven · Sexton Blake and the Time Killer - Episode Eight · Sexton Blake and the Time Killer - Episode Nine · Sexton Blake and the Time Killer - Episode Ten · Sexton Blake and the Time Killer - Episode Eleven · Sexton Blake and the Time Killer - Episode Twelve · Sexton Blake and the Time Killer - Episode Thirteen William Franklyn as
Sexton BlakeIn the following dramatisations, set in the 1960s, William Franklyn stars as Sexton Blake. He is joined by Heather Chasen as his secretary Paula Dane, and David Gregory as his assistant Tinker. The scripts were written by veteran Blake author Donald Stuart who'd been contributing to the saga since the 1930s. The quality of these recordings is variable.
