Brighton Branch 007 was foundered in 1954, and is a member of the British Sub-Aqua Club, the biggest dive club in the world, with a reputation for training and safety that is second to
none.
Here at Brighton Branch, we
enjoy a great programme of training, social events and
holidays, both in England and abroad. We welcome qualified divers (any discipline) and beginners
wishing to begin their training. Just
present yourself to the bar staff at the Sussex Yacht Club an a Wednesday
night, and you will be introduced to our
Diving and Training Officer.
We have two diving
vessels from which we conduct our diving from, a 5 meter Humber
inflatable, and a 10 meter Lockin called 'Nikaria', which is
berthed at Shoreham harbor.
The Sussex
Yacht Club offers excellent facilities for our divers, allowing us
to dive throughout the year from our vessels. Through the
years, we have gained vast knowledge of the diving sites along the
Sussex coast, and offer some fantastic wreck and reef diving.
If you are
interested, and would like to find out more about Brighton
Branch, please feel free to come along to our club house and meet
the members. We meet at the Sussex Yacht Club on
Wednesday evenings at the address listed
below.
Alternatively, ring the clubhouse during open hours or leave a
message.

| Not a member of the
committee, or even a member of BS-AC anymore, although I was in 1985
when I joined at the age of 14. At 17 years of age I was serving
on the committee as equipment officer and was also a skipper of the
clubs 31ft Mitchel 'Brighton Diver'. In 1990 I turned my
hobby into a career and became a professional diver, and shortly
after left UK to work in Asia, where I have been ever since. The
highlight of my career being the archaeological salvage of the 1817
shipwreck 'Diana" in Malacca, Malaysia. .Never forgetting my roots,
volunteered to help re-design the
branches web site, in the hope of keeping in touch with the people who
launched me into my career as a saturation diver. |
