The Huntsman, Aylesbury
The Huntsman is an estate pub that had previously been a managed house for several companies (Grand Metropolitan, Scottish & Newcastle, Wolverhampton & Dudley).
Avebury Taverns purchased the pub in 1997 from Wolverhampton & Dudley. Following the departure of the previous holding manager I took over the position having previously worked as a barman for four years. The tenancy was sold in April 1999 and the pub was run by James and Eugene with an Irish theme.
The pub was then operated by Last Chance Saloons.
The manager they had in called John bough the lease from them and went into partnership with his mate Chris but they are now (16/5/05) reportedly trying to sell.
