History of the BTOOIC
When and how did the rise of our clan start? How did it develop from the idea of a single forumer to the large group we have today? Soon you can expect a full report here from our founder,
Swolte the First!Under construction and I (Swolte) have the idea that the dates in various threads are not right anymore. I'll show things chronologically but without the exact dates! The events until the Valley exodus are told (I'll update every week).
pre-BTOOIC
Chaos and uncertainty ruled the forums of AoWHeaven: teleporters were to become a buildable feature in Age of WondersII. The vile unbalancing devices of science fiction elicited much discussion and emotions. From this burling soup of flames and arguments three warriors fought with unparalleled zeal, each with their own style. Those were: The Black Knight, Fingers and Swolte. Days, years, ages passed but a clear sign from
Above did not show. The last one, Swolte, did not give up...
The Founding
He, Swolte, became
the First. The first of aA Builable Teleporters Off Option In cities...
The BTOOIC was born! Together with Grand Vizier Iznoghoud, Swolte the First began recruiting members. In a grand recruitment party located at the nearly abandoned Hall of Wonders. To reach the cow, that symbolised the fears of uncertainty. One member, Newsboy555, wished coffee and doughnuts for membership. He was later known as Mister Pickles (after a tragic incident).
The BTOOIC grew fast. It stood for a friendly, non demanding means of achieving their cause. Violence and other bad associations were to be kept at bay at all costs. the name of BTOOIC was to be associated with a warm and fuzzy feeling, delicious doughnuts and THE ONE OPTION. Speeches and acts stimulated the growing together with the many free doughnuts, provided by the generous Sir Crashalot (who was later awarded the sustenance-award).
The Boring Old Windmill
Built on a hill, seperated from the busy threads and the general discussion, secret strategy meetings were held. Members only, of course.. Plans to get more attention to the BTOOIC were devised and numerous speeches and acts prepared. At one time,
Draco, one of the most powerful angels, appeared in the Windmill. Spreading doubt whether the BTOOIC was to be moved to an ordinary community forumThe Valley of Wonders (VoW) War
After this great period of bondage there was rest… the BTOOIC was getting members more slowly and talk of teleporters was getting sensitive. All were expecting an AoW2 beta-demo soon and tensions were large.
The BTOOIC decided to keep low… untill Waterfly came with a call for help.
Somewhere, a distant, lawless and abandoned forum that once was a peaceful VALLEY filled with intelligent discussion on AoW, was in need of revival...good and honest revival, that is. Because after the AoW-natives moved to AoWHeaven long ago, it was left alone and claimed by several evil warlords hungering for power. Many battles were fought over this VALLEY. It was known as the VALLEY OF WONDERS.
When the BTOOIC was informed, Colonel Sharpe and his (at the time) second in command SNR (Sharpe Novel Reader) controlled the VALLEY from The HALL. Colonel Sharpe was a big Scotsman filled with endless brags of militairy deeds. Everyone feared him but none dared to oppose his reign, well… not entirely, the HALL was constantly bugged by a 'terrorist' called The Drunk Knight (TDK), who's endless (and fruitless) attempts of overthrowing THE HALL was getting on their nerves. At a time, SNR came up with a smart plan and appointed him governor of the Valley. Giving him some power but at the same time gaining control and ridding TDK from the HALL. But things were about to change fast…
Tekk Zero, a BTOOIC member founded the AoW-Freedom fighters, using a different name to avoid negative publicity for the BTOOIC. The AoW-FF wanted to free the Valley and to give it back to righteous AoW-fans again. Governor TDK did not accept the newcomers and attacked immediately, but the AoW-FF fought hard. The humour of Pickles, guidance of Tekk, bolts of Falagar and sarcasm of Sir Crashalot were no match for TDK, who was soon defeated.
He fled to the HALL calling for assistance...
Now the war really began! Within a day, a large numbers of troops from the HALL were deployed at the Valley, and the war commenced... harder this time, and bloodier! Ultimatums were set and broken, bullets were shot and laughed at. In the midst of this haze Tekk Zero founded a BTOOIC outpost in the VALLEY.
Meanwhile, back at AoWHeaven, Swolte the First, who was opposed to starting a war at first, came by the BTOOIC-outpost. He had difficulty approving the outpost but in the end gave his blessing after all. The fights carried on but then the Colonel made a mistake: he attacked the outpost, which directly got the BTOOIC involved!
Now, there was no turning back, no hiding from bad publicity! All fought even braver then they already did. When Swolte the First threatened to call upon the full power of the BTOOIC, the Colonel bent and never set foot in the VALLEY again...
The Valley of Wonders retaken!
When the HALL realised that the BTOOIC was no disorganised band of barbarians but fully capable of even taking the HALL, SNR quickly devised a peace proposel. Under close supervision of Waterfly, a trusted BTOOIC member with great knowledge of the HALL, the peace treaty was signed. Swolte the First was given the Peace_award and Tekk Zero was
honoured for his vision which opened up new paths for the BTOOIC. Waterfly was officially appointed Foreign advisor to the BTOOIC. TDK was put to trial for several War crimes but it never came to a clear verdict. Many of the initial charges had to be dropped, including the use of inappropriate war means opposing the Heavengames 'code of conduct'. Later he became a respectable citizen in the Valley. Now that the BTOOIC watched over the VALLEY, slowly the threads of death and destruction were replaced by those of joy, doughnuts and intellect. A great series was started, TMPC (The Mister Pickles Chapter). It was a live show that aired around every 2 weeks and provided entertainment and immense fun for everyone!! Associations with the BTOOIC became very positive as more 'buildings' were raised and even people from outside AoWHeaven wanted to join! Relations with the HALL slowly improved as a BTOOIC embassy was founded at the HALL. Peace and harmony were restored at the VALLEY of WONDERS and day were spent on the relaxing BTOOIC beach or in the adventurous VoW-park owned by Psykitty.
Yet, another challenge awaited the merry BTOOICians…
AoW2 was nearing completion and uncertainty about the implementation of THE ONE OPTION, the primary cause was still playing parts. The COW became stronger as the end was getting near…
(Chapters to be released, probably this month but no promisses -> The defeat of the COW. The prosperous Valley, Coming of AoW2 and the end of the Valley, BTOOIC goes Clan (+ website) etc…)
