Granada filming day

Reg back on the number 11 bus.

Hello and welcome to the August newsletter
Well as you can imagine it was a pleasure and honour to meet with Reg. Myself and 3 other fans from the fan club, the famous bus man Tommy Steele, Ian and Chris got to meet Reg and interview him about ON THE BUSES.
Sorry more of you could not be invited but Reg had not been well recently and they did not want a mass of fans turning up and Reg getting overwhelmed. As you can see though even at 88 years young he still has a twinkle in his eye and is recovering well.

The programme will be shown early next year and as soon as I have a date for transmission I'll let you know.

I'm glad to say I think Reg enjoyed it as much as we did and
I must also say thankyou to his daughter Jeanne

After the filming (special thanks to Suzannah and the crew from Granada)

Well, after the filming we got a ride along the sea front to the cafe on the Lodekka. Yes it was the number 11 and it did have ON THE BUSES on the destination board.
(With thanks to David Sheppard and his Dad, whos bus it is.)

When we arrived at the cafe (on time) we had double egg and chips with beans, bread and butter and a mug of tea. A real busmens meal and it was "smashin" as Reg/Stan would say.

There are of course more photos of the day appearing in the next fan club mag due out at the end of August but until then Ding ding
