May sees another round of key releases for Network, with some
much-anticipated titles appearing in the shops:

The Tube – The Very Best of Series One, which is arguably one of the most
long-awaited music release EVER and featuring live sets from The Jam (in
their last ever performance), Soft Cell, Iggy Pop, Depeche Mode, Madness,
The Undertones and more. Further Best of sets will appear over the coming
months for each series of The Tube.
Classic stand-up comedy with the wonderful Peter Ustinov (in his An Audience
With…), Jasper Carrott in his 1981 London Palladium special, Beat the
Carrott and all six of Stanley Baxter’s fifty-minute LWT specials from the
70s and 80s.
Gerry Anderon’s Four Feather Falls – which hasn’t been seen anywhere in
decades. This has been digitally remastered and features contributions from
Gerry himself.
The first series of the highly-popular London’s Burning, which also features
Jack Rosenthal’s pilot play and the Christmas Special “Ding Dong Merrily”
The complete series of The Dustbinmen, including the pilot and the
previously-believed missing Christmas sketch. Two of the episodes from
series three will be of a lesser quality than the other episodes on this set
as they are only held in U-matic format.
The first series of John Thaw-starrer, Redcap. This military police series
has not been seen since the early 1960s and features some excellent scripts
from Troy Kennedy Martin, Roger Marshall and Leon Griffiths.
The first series of all-time classic children’s show Catweazle. The demand
for this series has been huge and the episodes have been re-transferred and
digitally remastered – they have never looked better. There are also four
wonderful audio commentaries on this set, featuring Geoffrey Bayldon
(Catweazle), Robin Davies (Carrot), Richard Carpenter (writer/creator) and
Joy Whitby (executive producer). Amongst other extras there will also be an
accompanying booklet.
As with April’s releases, there is a wide spread of titles here that should
appeal to everyone (comedy, children’s, drama, music) and the same strategy
will be used over the coming months. This allows us to reach as large a
target market as is possible and allows you not to be bankrupted in one
month if all the titles you like suddenly appear for sale!

Also, here’s a Press Release we prepared earlier:

“Network is pleased to announce that the label has reached agreement with
FremantleMedia for the worldwide media organisation to distribute the whole
Network DVD catalogue in the United Kingdom. A major part of the agreement
allows Network unrivalled access to the Thames Television programme
catalogue together with a number of international Fremantle properties.

The deal will see Network release previously unavailable shows such as The
Bill, Edward and Mrs Simpson, The Benny Hill Show, Hollywood, Unknown
Chaplin and Robin's Nest as well as complete series of classics Man About
the House, George and Mildred, Callan and Van Der Valk. The label will delve
deep into the archive to fully exploit the rich seam of the production
company's programme assets.

The acquisition dovetails perfectly with Network's recent Granada agreement
and means that the indie label now effectively controls the UK DVD rights
for the vast majority of ITV's 50 year old programme library.”

As mentioned before, we cannot comment on unscheduled titles due to
confidentiality reasons, but the release information will appear here first,
as and when we are allowed to make it available.

LETS SEE WHAT HAPPENS NEXT
