This page contains up to date information of all bird sightings within the Camel Estuary Area and its immediate environs.
The sightings below are mainly my own , all others are credited to the observer and are unchecked.

April 27th;
CAMEL ESTUARY; Colin Selway noted 32 Whimbrel on the estuary this morning as well as four Greenshank and a first winter Mediterranean Gull.
CLAPPER MARSHES; The Canada Geese have bred on the pools with six goslings noted today. Also present were 40 Swallow, five House Martin and a Common Sandpiper, (Colin Selway).

April 26th;
AMBLE MARSHES; 25 Swifts were noted this morning by Colin Selway, also present were ten House Martin and 30 Swallow.
PENTIRE/ RUMPS POINT; Two Whitethroat were present near Pentire farm today, (Colin Selway).

April 24th;
CAMEL ESTUARY; Twelve Whimbrel flew over Wadebridge this morning at 06:00. On Dinham Flats 16 Whimbrel, and five Black-tailed Godwits were present this afternoon, also present were eight Little Egret, 77 Oystercatcher, 35 Curlew, three Common Sandpiper, a female Sparrowhawk, two Buzzard, three Black-headed Gull, 55 Shelduck, 16 Great Black-backed Gull, 33 Herring Gull, four Cormorant, a Grey Heron and 28 Mute Swan. Six Swallow and a House Martin were also recorded. A Garden Warbler was heard singing from Roskear Valley.

April 22nd;
ST MINVER; Birdguides reports that the HOOPOE is still present this evening at Gunvenna Caravan Site.

April 20th;
ST MINVER; Birdguides reports that the HOOPOE is still present this evening at Gunvenna Caravan Site.
CAMEL ESTUARY; Seven Sandwich Tern, four Ringed Plover and two Whimbrel were noted by Colin Selway today.

April 19th;
CLAPPER MARSHES; A Little Egret was present at Lunch time, together with a Heron, four Mute Swan, three Mallard, seven Canada Geese, 55 Sand Martin, 50 Swallow and three House Martin.
CAMEL ESTUARY; This afternoon off Rock, a Common Tern was present together with 16 Sandwich Terns. Colin Selway reported ten Whimbrel, the Whooper Swan and the first winter Iceland Gull in Dinham Flats today. On the Camel Trail near the Wadebridge Sewage Works a Grasshopper Warbler was heard 'reeling', and a Cuckoo was seen.
ST MINVER; Birdguides reported this evening that the HOOPOE was still present today at Gunvenna Caravan Site.
WADEBRIDGE JUNCTION, CAMEL TRAIL; Pete Spong reported a 'reeling' Grasshopper Warbler here this morning.

April 18th;
CAMEL ESTUARY; A Redshank was heard calling over Wadebridge at 05:00 this morning. This evening on Dinham Flats a first winter Iceland Gull was again present as was the Whooper Swan. Other species noted included 105 Oystercatcher, Eleven Black-tailed Godwit, Eleven Little Egret, 33 Mute Swan, 18 Curlew, 402 Herring Gull, 7 Lesser Black-backed Gull, 13 Great Black-backed Gull, three Heron, six Cormorant and only nine Shelduck. A trickle of Swallows passed through with 27 noted with two accompanying Sand Martins.
ST MINVER; The HOOPOE was still present at Gunvenna Caravan Site this morning, (Birdguides).
CLAPPER MARSHES; This afternoon a brood of seven Mallard ducklings were present, together with five adult, also noted were two Shelduck, a Heron, 16 Herring Gull, two Mute Swan, eight Canada Geese and a Cormorant.
AMBLE MARSHES; Three, (male and two females), Garganey were present in front of the hide this evening together with 100 Sand Martins and four Lapwing, (Colin Selway).

April 17th;
CAMEL ESTUARY; This afternoon, in the Dinham Flats area, the Whooper Swan was still present in the Mute Swan herd of 27. Eleven Black-tailed Godwits were still present together with two Bar-tailed Godwit, three Whimbrel, 72 Oystercatcher, 16 Curlew, two Dunlin, a Ringed Plover and a Redshank. Twelve Swallow, six Sand Martin and a House Martin passed through. A Shag was present off the County Council hide as was six Cormorant and a male Wigeon.

April 16th;
CAMEL ESTUARY; A single Whimbrel was heard calling flying over Wadebridge at 05:30.

April 15th;
ST MINVER; The HOOPOE is still present at Gunvenna Caravan Site this morning.
CAMEL ESTUARY; The first winter Iceland Gull is still present off the Wadebridge Sewage Works this afternoon, (Birdguides). This evening a different Iceland Gull was present on the Dinham Flats area, the bird had a fleshy coloured base to the bill, unlike the bird in the picture below. Four Whimbrel were recorded together with eleven Black-tailed Godwit, 12 Little Egret, 193 Herring Gull, 117 Great Black-backed Gull, 12 Lesser Black-backed Gull, 70 Oystercatcher, ten Curlew and nine Black-headed Gull. 22 Sand Martin flew through.
AMBLE MARSHES; Eight House Martins were noted today, by Colin Selway, along with 'hundreds' of Sand Martins and Swallows. Also present here was a female Garganey, a single Ruff, two Shoveler and two Wigeon.
CLAPPER MARSHES; This evening a single Willow Warbler was heard singing while four Swallow hawked insects. Two Canada Geese, a Mallard and a Shelduck were also noted.

ST MINVER; The HOOPOE is still present at Gunvenna Caravan Site this afternoon.
CAMEL ESTUARY; The first winter Iceland Gull is still present off Wadebridge Sewage Works today, (Birdguides).

ST MINVER; One HOOPOE still present until early afternoon at least, at Gunvenna Caravan Site, (Birdguides).

ST MINVER; One HOOPOE still at Gunvenna Caravan Site, (Birdguides).
CAMEL ESTUARY; The first winter Iceland Gull and the Whooper Swan still present at Burniere Point this morning, (Birdguides).

ST MINVER; At least one HOOPOE still at Gunvenna Caravan Site, (Birdguides).
GROGLEY HALT; A single Dipper was present this afternoon, with singing Blackcap, Chiffchaff, Willow Warbler, Nuthatch and Green Woodpecker.
CLAPPER MARSHES; A single Little Egret was present this evening, as was one male Shoveler, nine Canada Geese, two Shelduck and three Sand Martins.
CAMEL ESTUARY; The first winter Iceland Gull was still at Wadebridge this evening as was the Whooper Swan and a Yellow-legged Gull, (Colin Selway).

ST MINVER; Two HOOPOES were present at Gunvenna Caravan Site but elusive, they have been present for at least a week, (according to the Owners)
TREBETHERICK; A single Swallow was noted.
CLAPPER MARSHES; A single Little Egret was present this afternoon, also noted was one Swallow and ten Canada Geese.

LUNDY BAY; A HOOPOE noted here today, may have been the St Minver bird.
CAMEL ESTUARY; the two Iceland Gulls were still near Wadebridge today, (Colin Selway).

ST. MINVER; The HOOPOE is still present today.
CAMEL ESTUARY; The two first winter Iceland Gulls were still near Wadebridge again today as was the Whooper Swan, (Colin Selway).

ST. MINVER; A HOOPOE was noted on a lawn in the village today.
AMBLE MARSHES; A male and two female Garganey were noted today, (Colin Selway).
CAMEL ESTUARY; The two first winter Iceland Gull were still present at Burniere Point today as was the first winter Little Gull, a Kittiwake and the Whooper Swan, (Colin Selway).

CAMEL ESTUARY; Off Burniere Point this evening, Colin Selway, noted the following; two first winter Iceland Gull, a first winter Glaucous Gull, an adult Yellow-legged Gull, a first winter Little Gull, a first winter Mediterranean Gull, two male Garganey and a Dark-bellied Brent Goose.
AMBLE MARSHES; A male and two female Garganey were noted from the hide this afternoon, (Colin Selway).
