January 6th 2008. Wadebridge; The male Blackcap is still present at Kernow Close this morning.
January 3rd 2008. Higher Treworder; A single Lapland Bunting was present in a Stubble Field with 19 Sky Lark at SX014727 this afternoon. (Birdguides). Wadebridge; A male Blackcap was at Trevanson Street this morning and a Chiffchaff was at Bradford Quay. Padstow; Turnstone two present at the harbour this morning. Hals' Grave; A female Merlin was noted hunting Sky Lark. Lundy Bay; In the stubble field next to the car park a single Brambling was present in the Chaffinch flock which numbered 200 birds, also present were 50 Yellowhammer, two Corn Bunting, 150 Sky Lark, 80 Linnet and 150 Wood Pigeon. Three Buzzard and two Ravens were also in the valley. Roserrow Golf Course; Two Fieldfare and 16 Moorhens were noted this afternoon.
January 2nd 2008. Nanstallon; Single Jay and Sparrowhawk was present this afternoon.
January 1st 2008. Wadebridge; The female Black Redstart showed well this morning on the roofs at Town Quay. A male Blackcap was noted feeding on berries in Kernow Close. Clapper Marshes; Four Gadwall, (two males), 20 Teal, nine Mute Swan, 82 Wigeon, 14 Mallard, six Moorhen, two Little Grebe, one Lapwing, four Siskin, one Firecrest, two Chiffchaff and a female Stonechat. Camel River/ Treraven Meadows; A total of six Common Sandpiper were counted this morning between Target Bridge and Wadebridge Sewage Works, also noted were eight Stock Dove at Lower Treraven Meadow, were 38 Canada Geese were also noted. A Green Sandpiper was at the Upper Meadow. A single Kingfisher was also noted. Camel Estuary; Up to 3000 Golden Plover were at Dinham Flats this afternoon, other species present about the estuary included 21 Mute Swan, 51 Shelduck, 1026 Lapwing, one Ringed Plover, 24 Dunlin, 14 Snipe, 32 Curlew, 65 Redshank, 968 Black-headed Gull and a Kingfisher.
