AMBLE MARSHES

The Amble Marshes contain the C.B.W.P.S. Reserve of Walmsley Sanctuary and is a designated S.S.S.I.

A great site for wintering wildfowl with most of the estuary population visiting during their stay. In recent years a large wintering population Black-tailed Godwits have taken up residence.

During the spring and autumn waders are evident as they pass through, as are Eurasian Spoonbills, Little Egret, Garganey and Marsh Harriers.

The site is also wonderful for Dragonflies with up to 13 species noted.

A hide is present within the site, with access to members of the C.B.W.P.S
