Query Language

The text search engine allows queries to be formed from arbitrary Boolean expressions containing the keywords AND, OR, and NOT, and grouped with parentheses. For example:

cappella singers

finds documents containing 'cappella' or 'singers'

cappella or singers

same as above

cappella and singers

finds documents containing both 'cappella' and 'singers'

cappella not singers

finds documents containing 'cappella' but not 'singers'

(cappella not singers) and choir

finds documents containing 'choir', plus 'cappella' but not 'singers'

sing*

finds documents containing words starting with 'sing'
