“Now the seasons started on the complex and a few of us have spent a few days down there, it’s time to update the occurrences“.

“Pant’sy (Cliff) decided to do the opening week in the “Tea Bag” swim.......How appropriate, as he can ring out the old ones deposited in the tree from 6 years ago !!!! and not having a fish for 4 days (let alone seeing one) moved onto another lake. Moi doing my first night in the south point did battle with the mosquitos but not with the fish, tooled off home the following morning only to get a phone call a half hour later from Pantsy that he had a good common“.

“Rolf Harris decided to do his party trick during the same week and not being afraid to keep his mouth shut (again) upset a few more of the guys............Not sure if it was his rendition of “two little boys” or from playing with his “Digeredoo” all night though“.

“Our Yoda got to the lake with the Lonely one over the first weekend and had a good result with Yoda picking up 4 commons and downing a fair few crates of the Amber stuff and Willy 5 Snotties, loosing one“.

“Mind you Willys found a new use for two way radios now, as the whole lake can now hear his runs“.

“Moi fished and had 5 blips in two nights..........if I had them all together I would have hit it !!!“.

“Little Andy was sporting some new headgear in the form of his mums net curtain to prevent the mossies from getting at his face...............wonder when his mum will notice the round hole cut out from her curtains“.

“Sniffer lost one a week later when he caught the “Willy Syndrome” and would have landed it but was in the carp park at the time.............beats being at work though“.

“Having said that, we hear our Sniffer is out of favour with the pit 5 & 6 crew for doing a bit of pruning down at lumpy’s corner..............still it is nice and flat for the Combat bivvy now“.

“Our Yoda’s got a new method of catching fish out of 7 now. Just wait until the surface weed blows into you line, disturbs your lead, wait a few hours and wind a couple of fish in without an indication on the rod...............mmmmmm must try that one out“.

For the record it has been found that 9 out of 10 fish in 6 prefer Sainsburys bread rolls to Tescos !!!

“Having said that I have now had a fish off the top on 7 on a Tesco’s cheese topped roll........I wonder how good the Asda ones are ?“.

“Our Cliff has made his third outing down on 7 fishing the “Big tree swim” and whilst knackered managed to turn up at the crack of 3.30pm and start fishing. That means start fishing eventually, (normally putting his rods out in the darkness at 11pm !!) not this time though and fired them out. Whilst firing out his first rod it landed in the big tree 3 times and moi had to put it out for him. On to the second rod, squirrel fishing yet again along with rigs tangled in reeds and catching his marker float again. On to the third..........you guessed it, more of the same plus a wind knot and a tangled rod tip to boot !!. Most people go fishing to relieve their stress but old Pantsy creates volumes of it !!!!“.

“Mind you what fish that were in front of him and moi, did the off when Pantsy got his mallet out and started beating his 6 banksticks to death trying to get them into the ground“.
