We have had this material kicking around the office for a few weeks now without having the opportunity of using it or reviewing it. The main reason is that I am not a big PVA fan.....I know how successful other people are when using it but I prefer the dear old spod to get a tight pattern of boilies to my spots. We went out to La Botte in France with Angling lines and I actually used PVA for the first time in 5 years casting out boilie necklaces at night to my spots.
Stuart from Coopers provided a large spool for my use and it got quite a caning during the course of the weeks trip..........can I have some more ?
The PVA string is a 3 ply material in a white colouration and is seriously strong. Blasting out necklaces on my 3.8lb rods I thought that they would come apart from the hook length (as my past experiences) when they didn’t it was a pleasant surprise. Bearing in mind the near frost conditions we had in France that week and the very low water temperature I was very pleased with the very fast dissolve of the product as well and I am sure it will be good for the winter months down the local lake.
Cooper products supply the string on plastic spools of 25m, 30m, 100m and 150m and is excellent value for money.
I have now changed my opinion on PVA as a result of a positive experience and it will now remain in my tackle box from now on.

Now here’s a brilliant bit of kit for all us phone loving long session anglers both here and abroad.
The COMCOM wind up charger is a small portable bit of kit to keep you in contact with you and yours when your battery power is gone from your phone.
To use the charger is simplicity in itself as all you have to do is plug the power cable into your phone charging socket and the other into the wind up charger and wind steadily clockwise, charging occurs immediately. It works on a similar principle as the wind up torches and radios you see around.
Winding the charger for 5 minutes provides 2 hour standby time or 10 minutes talk time.

Haith’s Super Red is part of an established range of particle baits from J E Haith Ltd.
The company has long supplied particles for fishing within their birdfood range of products and are probably best known for their fabulous Robin Red concentrate and are now starting to form a range of feeds dedicated to Carp and Course angling with a little help from Ken Townley.
Super red (part of the Supercatch range) is a groundbait derived from a very subtle mix based on the incredible Robin Red. It also contains crushed hempseed, crushed Carpticle, peanut granules, crushed tiger nuts and Red Factor, together with teasel seed and aniseed oil.
The Groundbait mix is a deep red colouration and when wetted to achieve a ball holds extremely well without excess water applied. We found that it was easily put out with a groundbait catapult 40 yards without breaking up. A tip which might help you is that with all groundbaits it is best to ball up Super Red and leave it to skin for an hour in the shade to toughen the exterior before catapulting or throwing by hand.
My fishing buddy Neil and I used the Super Red to great effect on a recent trip to France with Neil boating out the balls to 100 yard plus and I pulting it to a spot at 30 yards and had a good few fish over it by fishing Boilies over the top.
Haith’s have now brought out a range of ready made boilies based on the Super Red in 16mm and 20mm sizes and we cannot wait to try them out by fishing them over the top. It’s got to be a winner fishing a bait made out of the same ingredients over the top of the same groundbait, with the only real solid to munch for the carp is your hookbait !!!!.

C C MOORE (BAIT AND PARTICLE)

Over the last few months we have been evaluating C C Moore’s range of pellet and Carp groundbaits. The range of Carp pellets, particles, ground baits, bait ingredients and addatives that the company produces is absolutely massive, which has made the choice of the baits to try very difficult.
PELLET FUSION
This is a blend of CCMoores most successful, low oil content pellets which have been blended together to provide a wide cross-section of nutrients, colours, flavours and breakdown times. As the pellets breakdown they send powerful feeding triggers into the water that activete the carp’s sences, stimulating them to feed.
It has been proven over many years that certain fish respond to certain baits (hence certain ingredients and nutrients). This means that if you blend differing types of pellets that leak differing triggers and aromas into the baited area, then there is an improved chance that a greater percentage of the fish population in tha lake will find this blend of pellets more attractive than other pellet mixes.
Simply open the the bag of Pellet Fusion and smell the attraction (we wish we had Smells on the web as you would know what we mean !!!) and your nose is filled with a highly compex aroma which you will feel certain will produce many, multiple fish, catches.

BETAINE FUSION
This is a blend of C C Moore’s very succesful Betaine HNV carp pellets. A mixture of 4mm, 6mm, 8mm and 11mm pellets have been mixed together in equal amounts to provide a product which offers a continuous stream of high quality nutrients leaking off into the water as the differing size pellets break down at different rates.
Betaine HNVcarp pellets are packed full of highly digestable marine proteins, attractors, enzymes, antioxidants and of course Betaine. They are high in oil and have proven very succesful in all angling situations, with many fish being caught using them as loose feed or even hook baits in larger sizes.
Ian from C C Moore tells us thata 35lb common and a 37lb Mirror carp ( a lake record) were caught from the same water on censecutive days following a short baiting campaign using Betain Fusion and CCM obsession freezer baits. The 35lb common was the subject of a 3 year campaign, ended in two weks following the Betaine Fusion and Obsession boilies.

SUPERSTIM PELLETS
Superstim carp pellets are enzyme-active pellets which are coloured and flavoured right through them. They provide a bright, visually attractive feed item that really stands out on lake beds, drawing fish in during visable light conditions when other, duller pellets may be less attractive. Each pellet has a distinctive taste and aroma adding to the pulling power of the bait, making this product a very effective fish attractor on two fronts - smell and visability !!!!
Enzymes have been added into the pellets to make them very digestable, being passed through the carps digestive system at aspeed which induces them to feed more aggressively and for much longer.
Superstim carp pellets are availablein four colours/flavour labels individually or as a blend of 25% of each flavour.
The flavour label/colours are: Spiced Liver (beige), Cream HNV (yellow), Meat Marine (blue), Fizzy Peach (orange).

SUPERNATURALS (Creepy Crawlies )
This is a mixture of the highest quality freeze dried insects and crustaceans the company could find after scouring Europe and the Far East. Each addition to this blend has been included for a specific environmental and nutritional reason, with all the ingredients being found in the carps natural habitat including, Daphnias, Water Flies, Shrimps, Gammarus, Larvae etc etc.
With freeze dried insects, all the proteins, amino acids, vitamins, minerals and trace elements are “locked” into the original body, offering the carp a ready-made, natural food item they have 100% confidence in. With this in min, Supernaturals are ideal for addition into method mixes and spod mixes and can be re-hydrated using oils and then PVA bagged. For this appliocation soak them for several days, with hemp oil being an ideal soak. Also Supernaturals can be used within base mixes up to 10% inclusion weight.

SPICE AMINO PELLETS
Spiceamino carp pellets are a high quality pellet that has been formulated for a specific nutritional reason, promoting health, vitality and weight gain with a cross section of highly digestable ingredients which is known that carp find irresistable. As well as the highly attractive ingrdients in these pellets, C C Moore have added a subtle spice trace label which will give them a real edge that fish have not seen or smelt before.
With such a quick breakdown time and a formulation which takes into account ingredient interaction (how different ingredients react to each other in a mixed product), the company feels these pellets are avery cost effective product for attracting large volumes of fish in heavily stocked waters or pulling fish into areas on very large waters where location is a key aspect of succesful fishing.

ACTIVE FEAST
CC Moore tell’s us that no expence has been spared in the formulation of this mix, with only the best ingredients being selected to make what the company consider the “Rolls Royce” of method mixes.
Hydrolised marine proteins, pre-digested fish meals, ground tiger nuts, freeze dried insects, fructose concentrate and several other top quality raw materials have been carefully blended together to make a mix which binds well and activates on the lake bed. Insects and other highly attractive bait items rip off the lake bed, moving up and down in the swim. This entices fish down onto the lake bed to feed on the main baited area and hopefully your hook bait. With fructose concentrate added to the mix, there is a beautiful fruit undertone to the Active Feast.

MICRO MARINE PELLETS
These are a very exciting new pellet which are exclusive to C C Moore. These carp pellets were the subject of a long search where the company tried to find a highly nutritious pellet which not only immediately attracted fish, but also provided a dietary item which, even if fed at very high levels would deliver superior nutrients to “other” fishmeal pellets available on the market today.
Micromarine pellets have a low oil content, enabling high levels to be fed without detrimental effects to the fish and environment, but have a protein level 10-20% higher than Halibut pellets and other high oil products. This is achieved by agreater inclusion of enzyme-treated fish meal than in virtually any other marine diet. As with all highly digestable bait items, fish will naturally eat, digest and gain benefits from higher volumes of this pellet than they will other, lower quality pellets, giving you a better chance of catching carp over this pellet.

MILKIMEN PELLETS
made purely from milk powders, trace elements, minerals, vitamins and a binder, these pellets represent a very high quality food item that are visually attractive. They are bright white in colouration and will stand out on the bottom on any water.
Due to the weightless characteristic of Milkimen carp pellets, some will actually suspend in mid-water, pulling fish down onto the lake bed from all depths of the water. As time passes some pellets will lift off the bottom of the lake bed, clearing the swim constantly ‘working’ the swim at differnt depths.
With sucha visually attractive pellet, adding Milkimen to other pellets makes a blend with contrasting colours which will draw inquisitive fish.

SUPER STRENGH MINI CSL PELLETS
These boozy smelling, 3mm carp pellets have delivered succesful results to the many people who have tried them since their test launch in September 2002. They are strongly flavoured, dark in colour and break down in all water temperatures.
They include a key ingredient, in pure CSL powder. This is spray dried Corn Steep Liquor and is highly attractive to carp when included at the correct level. Another vital ingredient which seems to compliment the Corn Steep Liquor in these fantastic pellets is Betaine, of which it is included in it’s purest form.
Being small and highly attractive, these pellets represent excellent value for money and are ideally sized for PVA bags and solid spods.

TIGER NUT METHOD MIX
As tiger nuts have long been considered as one of the most succesful carp baits, C C Moore have created a method mix which offered all of their attraction properties in an instantly available form-a-method mix.
The moment this method mix comes into contact with water it explodes into life, clouding the swim with tiger nut paricles, sweet milk powder and another key ingredient. The cloud leaks though the water pulling fish into the area inducing a feeding frenzy in the vicinity of your hook bait.
This mix is a balanced mix including over 60% pure tiger nuts, which easily binds and can be fed at distance.
