Castle Sailing Club |
| The club has been
at Calshot for many years and has allowed different generations to take to the water, from
the 60s/70s, through to the present day, having survived threats to the very existence of
the Calshot Activities Centre. There has always been a place for the novice, with sheltered waters near at hand, but plenty of scope for the more adventurous with some of us even circumnavigating the Isle of Wight in Wayfarers. In between there are the sometimes empty rivers and creeks to explore such as the Hamble and Ashlett Creek or catch all the action of Cowes Week. To sum up some of our attractions:Near or far as suits you. Sail together or as you please. Varied surroundings. Start off at the mouth of the Solent. Safe sailing waters for all abilities. Potter, cruise or race. Suits the independant sailor |
The club is on the site of the Calshot Activities Centre and has access to its modern facilities
Launching at all states of the tide is easy from the purpose built concrete slipway |
