But first, a brief introduction…
Christ Church is a lively Methodist Church in a busy area adjacent to Addiscombe town centre and a mile from central Croydon.
The age profile, social mix and multi-cultural nature of the church community reflects the area in which the church is situated and most of its people are drawn from within a few miles of the church – many live within walking distance. The membership is presently 130 with a large community roll - we estimate that some 800 people have some sort of contact with the church.
The church property has been redeveloped in recent years and we are fortunate in having a set of premises that is modern and flexible. All parts of the building are wheelchair accessible, and a loop system is fitted in the church for those with impaired hearing.
As well as activities organised directly by the church, many other groups use our premises for their own activities. Members are involved in a number of community-based projects, most notably the Addiscombe Neighbourhood Care Association (ANCA). Details of some of these are listed on our links page. We are part of the Croydon Circuit of the Methodist Church and a member of Churches Together in Addiscombe.
To help keep in touch with all that is going on, we publish a monthly Newsletter, which contains information and news from the various church organisations.
