Jan Willem had a full out of water hull survey in 1999 and all recommendations were carried out.
Jan Willem is a good example of a sympathetically converted sailing barge that is suitable for sailing, motoring and living aboard. He is not full of luxury home appliances that would tie him to a fully equipped mooring, he is a ship not a house, but all systems and equipment that render him a comfortable home will work efficiently whether offshore or anchored up some remote creek.

After 12 years constant living on board, we are now emptying the ship of 12 years of assorted junk and undertaking an interior refit. We are cleaning and painting the bilges, relaying some of the floor, updating the wiring and generally renovating to a comfortable standard. This will take most of the winter and so the price will depend on the stage the refit has reached.
Guide price as is £65.000
We are booked to be hauled out during March. At this time I will clean and paint the bottom, renew anodes and complete the double plating of the bottom. This would be a good time to view and get a surveyors report. NB When all work is carried out the price will rise accordingly.
