ADVICE PAGE

This page has been established to provide beginners with basic advice on matters relating to the internet and creating a web page.  chapelhall.com was established on a non-commercial basis to encourage and enable local people to get on the internet and to put Chapelhall on the map.

How can I get my own web page?

Its relatively easy to get started. If your using Internet Explorer (below version 5) sometimes referred to as IE5, then you will have some software called FrontPage Express installed. This is a basic version of Microsoft FrontPage 2000 which will get you up and running with your own web page(s) without having to learn Hyper Text Markup Language - HTML.

If you cant find it easily click on START - FIND - Files or Folders - in Named: box type FrontPage Express,  in Look in: box make sure (C) is chosen. Click FIND NOW and all will be revealed. You can then create a short cut to your desktop.

Some ISPs will have some web building facilities. Check out your ISP web site.

Can I get someone to create a site for me?

If you dont have the time or experience to build your own site you can pay someone to do it for you. There are a number of commercial companies out there and the fees vary. It really depends on what you want in terms of pages, graphics/images, whistles and bells. For instance, we at chapelhall.com  can set you up with your own site starting at £60. Click here for more information.

I have a web site already. Can I have it linked to chapelhall.com ? Sure. Just email your web address and a link will be created.
