Chesterfield Photographic Society

We are moving the website to:

www.chesterfieldphotosociety.org

so over the next few months this site will be run down

Please update your browser and other documentation

Welcome to the CPS Website, the site is aimed to show visitors our work which we hope you enjoy, Members' Gallery and Competitions pages will show you examples of our photographs. The site will give you an insight into our activities and gives information on meetings and forthcoming events.

If you have any interest in photography, whatever it may be why not join us at one of our meetings,  you will be very welcome on any of our Thursday evening meetings.

For information on this year's excellent programme please go to our Programme Page

We were successful in our application for a Lottery Grant to purchase digital projection equipment and we are now the proud owners of some excellent technology.

We are putting this to use in a number of Workshops we are offering to anyone who is interested in Digital Photography.

These will start in late November in the Library  and you can find more detail by going to the

Digital Workshops Pages

Our aim is to make photography an enjoyable and creative hobby for anyone.

We recently held our Annual Exhibition in the Tourist Information Centre and these are two views of some of the work

Our News Page Shows more of the work of our members.  Thanks to Jerry Daniel for organising the Exhibition

The News Page also shows a picture of Chris and Sue Turner at their recent Marriage - Congratulations to them

The site has been updated with a new page about member's experiences and has an article by Sheila Curzon that is well worth a read.

Brian Davis - La Defense - Paris

Joyce Hart - Clock - October Competition Winner

Jonathan Ratnage - Imperial War Museum North

We have also created a new gallery for Kath Stevens FRPS, Kath died a few years ago but some of her work has been passed to the society and we have created this short retrospect of her work.  David and Joyce Hart also have new gallery pages - please visit, we're sure you'll enjoy the photos.

The site was last updated on 2nd October 2005 with details of the Digital Workshops

We strive to update members pages and the competition pages with new work whenever possible

It's been a while since we updated the site, the WebMaster has some miserable excuse of having had major heart surgery.

The excuses some people think of!!  However hopefully we can get back to normal

Sometimes visitors to the site may think we just concentrate on competitions, actually we are not a competitive society and we show the pictures here just because we think they are good.  Don't be put off by the reference to competitions. We aim to provide an entertaining general programme on Thursday nights and we will also try to help any visitors with any queries they have.

Winter on Chrome Hill  - Mick Platt

We completed our Exchange with Toyota Photographic Society in Japan and we have updated the page showing one or two of their excellent pictures.  Hitoshi Yokokume's page has also been updated.
