It is with regret that we note the passing of two long-standing members, Cyril Price and Roy Thompson.

They had been members for many years and had contributed much to the Society.

Roy Was instrumental in running our popular 'Then & Now' Photographs at the Annual Exhibitiion,  this year's 'Then & Now' was a  memorial to Roy.

Doing justice to the photographs in the Annual Exhibition is not really possible but the following gives you a taste of what was on display.

Congratulations to Chris and Sue Turner who married in September, a number of members were there so it should be the most photographed wedding in the area.

The following picture is of an exhibition the Society put on for the Holymoorside Arts Festival during the weekend of June 11th 2005

It stars Jerry Daniel and local artist Mike Groves (more people than Jerry go to the exhibitions in case you were wondering).

Chesterfield Market 800 year celebrations - the Society's display.

Jerry Daniel, Sheila Curzon, Joan Davis and Ken Davis used some of the archive held in the Library to create the display you will may have seen in the Baptistry of St Mary's (literally under the Crooked Spire).

In the Spring of 2002 we hosted an evening with Derbyshire County Council for photographers from Toyota City.  We had a great evening and have kept in touch via email and the Web with one of the visitors, Mr Hitoshi Yokokume.  Hitoshi has produced an impressive book of his holiday here and it is available to society members

We have also held a slide exchange which was very successful and the slides are available to any members who did not see the show, there is some great work among it
