 Alnwick Walks

Walk Alnwick in Northumberland. Alnwick is a great base for walking and exploring the coastal region of Northumberland. The miles of deserted beaches that Northumberland has to offer makes it that special place.

My favorite walks in the Alnwick area of Northumberland explores the coastal region.

Starting at Craster the walk up to Dunstanburgh Castle is quite spectacular. More details of this walk are available here.

Alnwick, Northumberland.

Alnwick - This picturesque market town is situated in the heart of Northumberland and therefore is central for exploring both the coast and the Cheviot Hills. Alnwick Castle, whose gardens were designed by Capability Brown while the castle itself is the home of the Duke of Northumberland, dominates the town.

This is one of the many Northumbrian towns with a history of years of conflict from the raiding Scots, but luckily the town has prospered since then with a fine selection of listed buildings.
