Sandells & Health Haven - Sponsors of Worthing Chippingdale Cricket Club Formed 108 years ago in 1897 by local builder the late Frank Sandell (History), Chippingdale Cricket Club currently plays in both the Sussex Invitation League and the West Sussex Cricket League. In addition, the Club is only one of a few in the area which still plays friendly cricket on a Sunday which reinforces that the main reason for playing this wonderful game is for enjoyment and also the social aspect which cricket brings. We also participate in both the Worthing Evening League and the Winter Indoor Cricket league (Adult teams). Central to our success is a 5 year Development plan which is constantly updated and is underpinned by the Club Values of Loyalty, Honesty and Trust. Some results of this plan, in recent years, have been a new Club Constitution, Code Of Conduct, an inaugural cricket tour run in 2004 to Bournemouth, Club website and a recently awarded National Lottery grant for the Junior Section of £4282. All of which have been achieved through a great deal of hard work, patience and determination. The Club has an active Committee which meet on a monthly basis and looks after the affairs of the Club. We have many social events throughout the year culminating in an annual presentation evening, which attracts over 100 adults and youngsters. All are welcome to join our Cricket Club, which also boasts an extremely healthy Colts Section for 8 to 16 year olds. Running teams at a number of different age groups, the emphasis is on fun and having a go and achieving what we hope will be a lifelong love of cricket. We have eight qualified ECB Coaches and many of our current adult teams include products of our youth system. Practice nets took place at St Andrews School for both Adults and Juniors and have now continued outdoors at Goring CC. Feel free to view our photos.
