generation Choy Lee Fut master Sifu Edmund Ng (Ng Hao Tak) was born in
Hong Kong in 1952, and began his training in Choy Lee Fut kung fu at the
age of eight years old under the guidance of Master Jew Yew Jong who
intern studied under the great grand master Chan Hon Hung. Training in
Hong Kong was hard, for example, stances were held for the duration of
the burning of a Joss stick. Studying diligently Sifu Ng progressed to
become Master Jew's number one student and in addition to Choy Lee Fut,
he learnt traditional Chinese medicine, Iron Palm training and Lion
Dancing.
Upon arrival in England in 1976, Sifu Ng with the permission of Master
Jew Yew Jong, opened his own school to further the teaching of Choy Lee
Fut. Sifu Ng gains the respect of his students due to his informal
training methods and the friendly atmosphere at the club.
Lion Dancing has always been a true passion of Sifu Ng, and his Lion
dancing team have become one of the most respected in the North of
England.
In 1996, master Ng was appointed to the position of European
representative of the Hong Kong Choy Lee Fut Association.
