Gordeanna McCulloch    Chris Miles

Gordeanna McCulloch began her singing apprenticeship in Norman Buchan's Ballads Club in the sixties and went on to become a fully fledged tradesperson with the Clutha, travelling extensively at home and abroad singing powerfully and mainly traditional songs. More recently she has an important role in the Glasgow based Eurydice Choir, (thus called because it's not the Orpheus Choir!) and in performing in duo with Chris Miles. Gordeanna was formerly a member of Palaver when they were a quartet. Although she retained a strong traditionl element to her singing, her powerful repertoire also includes all kinds of songs. While Gordeanna held the stage all over Europe Chris was singing away at the kitchen sink and at after-the-pub-shuts parties, all kinds of songs. Encouraged to take the floor at Kirkcaldy Folk Club in October 1985, she hasn't stopped singing since. She teamed up with Gordeanna into the already germinating line up with Aileen and Maureen in July 1991 when, as Palaver, all four took Ballyshannon Festival by storm on their very first sortie together. Gordeanna ended performing with Palaver a few years back, but continues singing with Chris occassionally.

Gordeanna and Chris share a love of powerful songs, in meaning and presentation and the main principle in singing a song is that they feel something about it. You won't know what to expect except an exciting sound, and an enjoyment in each others company that catches the audience's imagination.

Gordeanna and Chris are available for clubs, festivals and other engagements.
