Welcome to this site which intends to provide some political and community information about my work and that of other community leaders in Lincoln North and on the County Council. In addition to my work as a County Councillor I work full time as a Manager with a young persons charity that deals with homelessness and other issues that prevent young people developing to their full potential.
I always intend to be fully accessable to all citizens within the division (County elected areas are Divisions, City elected areas are wards, there are two main City wards within my division, Minster & Castle) and this site is one of a number of measures intended to acheive this objective. I also initiate ward surgeries from time to time. I welcome meetings with local organisations including meeting with Faith Groups in the division. The Ward:
Lincoln North is among the largest (in population terms) of the County seats which will go to the polls on June 4th 2009. I was first elected to the County Council in 2001. I was re-elected in 2005. I hold largest Labour majority in the County and the eighth largest majority among all councillors. If you are resident in Lincoln North please feel free to email or telephone Chris regarding any matter relating to the County Council and its services.

Chris has recently:
Condemned the secrecy of MP's expences and supported with Gillian Merron MP the Prime Ministers statement to reform the system. Chris said "I support the public in this matter who are rightly outraged by a lack of accountability by a number of MP's. All MP's should be subject to at least the levels of scrutiny as councillors are.
Chris has supported the increase in the minimum wage and has called for an equal minimum wage for all who work irrespective of age.
Chris supported Parliament in demanding fair settlement rights for the Gurkas. He said "These steady and couragious supportes of our country should be recognised and honoured. As a former member of HM Forces I also support the Prime Ministers recent statement indicating that the Gurkas will be recognised and allowed to stay.
Cash back for old cars has found has been praised by Chris as another excellent Government measure to assist the environment.
On a less serious note Chris & son Sean helps the Mayor to open Lincoln Fair in April 2009.
