Friends, relatives and visitors are welcome to a lecture on payment of a £1 contribution to funds, or a new social member can join for the year on payment of a £5 subscription.

February 7th

WINTER TO SPRING. PREPARING FOR ACTION IN 2008. Mike Harris, who has recently joined NBKA, is an experienced beekeeper, with the BBKA Intermediate qualification. He will tell us, and remind us, about preparing equipment and bees ready for the warmer weather.

Adam Hart: 'Beekeeping in Mexico' This goes back a long way, and is different from European methods of beekeeping.

James Fearnley 'Propolis - Medicine from the hive'. James Fearnley is an expert on propolis. He is founder and head of BeeVital, a company researching and preparing propolis for medical use.

WAX. How to collect, refine and use it. Martyn and Cheryl Cracknell have kept bees for over 25 years. Martyn is a horticultural lecturer, and runs beginners’ courses and Cheryl lectures in candlemaking. Come and be inspired.
