SCARBOROUGH COASTGUARDS GET AN EYEFUL

Scarborough and District Riding Club members brought more than a smile to the faces of local coastguards after they stripped off for a saucy calendar to rein in cash for charity.

Twelve women and one man feature in a variety of tastefully posed pictures for the black and white calendar and its cover.

The group of riders ranged in age from 17 to 55 and include committee member Kathy Boothman wearing chaps, boots and black underwear, "Lady Godiva" Emma Matthews riding along the beach and Nick Colbeck covering his modesty with a strategically placed riding hat.

Miss Matthews, 29, told how her particular shoot grabbed the attention of the local coastguard and a few early morning dog walkers.

She said: "We did the shoot on the beach at 5am on a Sunday morning. We soon attracted the attention of the coastguards, who were watching us with their binoculars, and a few surprised dog walkers. Everyone was great about it and they even gave us a round of applause as we left the beach."

The calendars can be bought by sending a cheque for £8 (which includes postage and packing) made payable to SDRC, to Kathy Boothman, Gundale House, Saintoft, Pickering, North Yorkshire, YO18 8QQ.
