SURVIVAL WOMAN RESCUED FROM CAVE

Clyde Coastguard was alerted to a Japanese woman, in her 30s, which had passed out in a cave on the Isle of Mull.

The woman was taken to hospital suffering from hypothermia while living in a cave in Scotland as part of a film crew working on a survival programme.

An RAF helicopter winched the woman from the cave that was at the bottom of a 50ft cliff, and she was taken to the Belford Hospital in Fort William.

Robin Watson, watch manager at Clyde Coastguard, said: "From first reports it seems the film crew have not been particularly well prepared for the rigours of the weather in the west of Scotland at this time of year."

It is believed the three strong crew was filming survival or endurance techniques.
