CLYDE COASTGUARD CO-ORDINATE MEDIVAC

An RAF Nimrod and a rescue helicopter from Kinloss were scrambled after a crewman suffered a head injury whilst fishing off a remote island about 20 miles south of Rockall, west of the Outer Hebrides.

Clyde Coastguard, which co-ordinated the rescue, said one man was injured on board the 103-metre Russian fishing vessel, the ‘Marshal Vasilevskiy’.
