Dave Robinson, Shetland Coastguard Watch Manager said, " We understand the lad slipped and fell about 30 to 40 feet, whilst scrambling around on the cliff. As ever we would advise that anyone seeking to cliff climb must ensure that they have the correct safety equipment with them and are well secured by safety lines. Youngsters have to be particularly careful in such terrain, despite how safe it may appear initially.
