Coastguard scrambled rescue helicopter ‘Oscar Charlie’
to the mobile drill rig ‘Paul B Lloyd Junior’ at around
7am on 14 July 2001 after a rig worker suffered a stroke
while working in the North Sea.
A spokeswoman for Aberdeen Coastguard said the trip to
the rig, which lies 170 miles north-east of the city, would
take at least two hours.
She added: "We would
like to have gone to Gilbert Bain Hospital in Shetland but,
due to his condition, he is on his way to Royal Infirmary
for treatment. |
