TEN AIRLIFTED OFF PLEASURE CRAFT

A skipper beached his cabin cruiser on a remote stretch of coastline known as Traighe Beach after the vessel, ‘MV Force’ got into difficulties just south of the island of Ulva, near Mull.

The skipper radioed for help and ten people on board the pleasure vessel were airlifted to safety after the boat started taking in water.

All 10 passengers, none of whom was injured, were transferred to the Ulva Ferry terminal in Tobermory, Mull.

A coastguard spokeswoman said: "This appears to have been a privately-owned cabin cruiser which got into difficulties.

"Everybody on board the vessel has been rescued and no-one has suffered any injuries as a result of the incident."
