was alerted to a man in trouble out at sea off St Leonards on 26
June 2001.
The incident happened around 9pm off the coast by the Royal
Victoria Hotel
Coastguard’s requested the launch of a lifeboat, but by the
time it was mobilised two people out in their canoes had pulled
the man from the sea. |
