MAN DIES IN TRACTOR CLIFF PLUNGE

A Coastguard rescue helicopter was scrambled after a man in his mid-thirties or forties died when the tractor he was driving plunged over cliffs in Devon.

The vehicle crashed over steep cliffs into the sea at Compass Point, near Dartmouth.

The driver died at the scene.

His body was airlifted by coastguard helicopter to Torbay Hospital mortuary.

A Devon and Cornwall Police spokesman says efforts are being made to identify the man, but only part of the vehicle's registration is so far visible in the water.
