DIVER FEARED DEAD

Coastguards co-ordinated a search for a diver after he failed to resurface.

Experienced diver Mick Brennan, a member of Pendle Sub-aqua Club is feared dead after a dive to a wreck went tragically wrong.

The diving team, which included two safety divers –one on each boat –, notified the Coastguard who began a search and rescue attempt.


Rescue Helicopter from RAF Valley

Coastguards requested the launch of lifeboats from Holyhead and Crearddur Bay, and scrambled a rescue helicopter from RAF Valley. Coastguard rescue boats also searched in vain for 10 hours, covering an area of 30 square miles.
