Civilian Shirt with typical mid 19th Century small pattern print. This example has no collar and a four button placket front. Note the small china buttons. Many makers of reproduction shirts affix large wooden and tin buttons to their products. This goes against many of the extant examples of shirts from the period. This plain shirt is the kind of understated item that would be worn by soldiers.
