This is an example of how shelter halves would be pitched in line as shelter tents. Here the boys have used cut pieces of wood for uprights and crosspieces ; it was also possible to use the rifle, with fixed bayonet, thrust into the ground at either end of the canvas, with a length of rope to support the roof, clamped in both triggers.
