Restaurants, Cafes & Tapas Bars
|
 |
There are many good places to eat in La
Marina Town and the La Marina Urbanization. This ranges from traditional local dishes, to typically English, or else
Italian, French, Chinese and Thai
food. |
| You can relax with a glass of wine and some
tapas or paella outside the many bars and restaurants. The regular street
markets sell fresh fruit and vegetables for your self catering dishes. |

Eating Out
Although you could stay in and cook – why? Give Mum a break –
food is good and much cheaper to eat out than in the UK!
There are many places to eat out in La Marina and the surrounding
area.
La Marina
In the main Commercial centre try Camelias for tapas.
La Bodega is a very good restaurant - you can choose from the set
menu, or eat a la carte. They hold a quiz night on Wednesdays, have music
Thursday - Sunday and on Saturday night they have a Flamenco show (it is
advisable to book as the restaurant is very popular).
In the Commercial Zone 4 (about 0.5 kilometres along the main road
from the main Commercial Centre), try Bonnies for their set meal including wine.
Pullmans (opposite Bonnies) does a very good curry.
Bar Ramone, the Spanish bar next to Bonnies is excellent value and
well worth a visit.
Casa Jin on the approach road to La Marina is good value - try
their meal of the day.
Further afield
Guardamar – 10 to 15 minutes drive
You will find numerous restaurants, far too many to mention.
Restaurante Chino Internacional on the Avda Los Pinos, 62, Tel 96
672 60 51, (opposite the park) is renowned for superb meals which are
extremely good value. Also highly recommended and equally as good is the
Restarante Chino Wang Cheng on the Avda Los Pinos, 50. Tel 96 672 73 61
The Hong Kong restaurant on the main road into Guardamar from La Mata end is
exceptional value and very good service – make sure you get a table with a
wheel. There is even an outside
play area when the children get bored – be careful with the complementary
after dinner drink it may not be to all tastes!
Elche -30 minutes
Wander around the historic centre of Elche and enjoy the many
Spanish bars and restaurants. The central area is very historic and worth a
visit to the museum and old castle. There are also several Spanish restaurants
on the road to Elche - stop and try a different one every day!
There
is a Tourist Information Centre in La Marina (in front of the Doctor’s
surgery), that is very helpful and information of fiestas and local attractions
are readily available – they do speak English as well!
